Tourism
We will visit Valdiviana Forest of the area of Puerto Blest that belongs to the National Park Nahuel Huapi, located in the western end of the Blest Branch of the Lake Nahuel Huapi. The annual average temperature is 9 ° C and the annual precipitations reach 3.000 mm. These high precipitations make possible the ingresión from Chile of plants typical of Valdiviano District. The physiognomy of the vegetation corresponds to that of a temperate forest, although due to the existence of more than one tree stratum (Superior: Nothofagus dombeyi, Fitzroya cupressoides, low: Saxegothaea conspicua, Dasyphyllum diacanthoides, etc.), of lianas, of creepers and to the complexity of the understory some authors consider it to be a rainforest.
We will arrive to the place by means of a trip in catamaran. We will depart from Puerto Pañuelo (25 km far from San Carlos de Bariloche) accompanied by the gulls that always accompany the trip of the craft. After one hour and a half of navigation we will arrive at Puerto Cántaros to begin a small treaking, entering in Valdiviana Forest for an ascending footpath, which takes to the Lake Los Cántaros which feeds the cascade of the same name. Another trajectory in catamaran will take us to the opposite shore, Puerto Blest, in this zone we will cover the area appreciating the immense cold forests of patagonian larch and the predominance of geoforms of glaciar origin. We will also visit the biological station Puerto Blest.
